BECOME A BILLET FAMILY!
Each season, the Warbirds have players ages 16-21 from all over the world who leave their homes to play the game they love. For our athletes to take advantage of the opportunity to develop themselves on and off the ice, we need billet families willing to open their homes for the hockey season.
Our billet families play a vital role in the long-term success of our players. The families prove to be great role models and provide a supportive family environment that will make a significant difference in these players' lives. We aim to provide our players with the best “home away from home” and make this an excellent experience for the player and host family. Some families love it so much that they will even host two or more players. Susie, our billet coordinator, helps to coordinate and oversee the process throughout the year. Billet families are vital to the success of the Casper Warbirds and quickly become a part of the team and family.
WHAT IS EXPECTED OF THE HOST FAMILY?
Each player will need a room of his own or one he can share with a teammate. We ask that each family provide a bed and a bureau or closet. The host family is also responsible for providing the players' meals.
WHAT IS EXPECTED OF THE PLAYERS?
The players must adhere to all team and house rules and show respect toward all family members. Players are responsible for their own transportation. Most players will have a vehicle of their own or will coordinate with teammates and roommates.
IS THERE COMPENSATION?
Host families will have a player for an average of 8 months (August 15th to April 15th). Each family will receive a monthly personal payment of $500 per player that the Casper Warbird deposits directly into your account monthly.
