The Casper Warbirds are a brand new hockey team beginning play for the 24-25 season competing in the Mountain West Division of the NCDC (National Collegiate Development Conference). The NCDC is a tuition free Tier 2 hockey league based across the United States with the goal of sending players to NCAA collegiate hockey. Many of our players come from all over the United States and the world with the goal of pursuing collegiate and professional hockey upon the conclusion of their junior careers. Our players range in ages from 17-20 and live with host families called billets while in Casper from mid-August until April.
While here, our players are more than just athletes; they are pillars of the community. Our players will be involved with volunteering with the local youth hockey, participating in community events such as our 9/11 stair climb, going to schools for various events, and a variety of other community outreach programs. The goal is for them to be as involved as possible throughout the community. Some of the specialty games in which our organization will be paying tribute to members of the community include our first responders game, our pink cancer awareness game, our military appreciation game, our teddy bear toss game (donated teddy bears go to less fortunate children), our food drive games, and our Valentine’s Day game.
We are incredibly excited to get our players to Casper, but we are even more excited on the positive effect and memories they will leave behind when they leave us to pursue the rest of their lives. For them Casper will be home to some of the best memories of their lives and those are the memories we want to create for the community here as well.
